JJust an FYI, you don't have rights over the artwork as long as it is not used commercially, meaning it can be taken and used personally for anything, but cannot be posted on the internet or used for any sort of monetary gain. since she is intending to use it personally, she does not have to pay you or trade you...or have permission. its just the right you give away once you put something on the internet I'm afraid.
I know but its a decent thing to do if you want to, it's a paying respect to the artist, and I know that people dont have to, FYI i can give it a try It's not like i'm forcing them to pay me, I mean if I say no whats stopping them, but it's actually a persons fault if they ask permission, because you can expect somepeople to ask for more ^^ sorry thats just reality speaking XD FYI
I feel as if you may be using the acronym "FYI" wrong, and I gain from your message that you may have thought I was being snarky in mine.I would like to assure you it was purely informative, and I mean no air of spite to be the result. Either way, she did ask, but I am not sure she was aware. I was the one making the shirt for her, so i didnt feel awkward saying what I said due to the fact that I am a part of this, though I should have taken into account the fact that you we not previously knowledgable of this information. I would also take this opportunity to give you a few positives about letting someone use your work for free. I, for instance, have a separate account where I post all of my merchandise. Anyone who sees it also sees that I credit the person who made the artwork that I used, and a link to the original work. This can easily get you more page views and get the credited piece of work several more views. I also have a link to the e-Bay auction for the item. If you take a look at the auction I credit the artist and link both the page and the original work in the description. This can easily get you outsider views. The only real negative is that I am making money and you arent, but I am also only being artistically recognized for the object i made that holds your design, and that doesnt often get you too far when it is as simple as mine is....
Anyway, it is a lovely drawing, and I know not to use it in the merchandice I DO sell (i am also assuming you do not wish for me to) and I hope you consider my words, and read them in a friendly tone.
Ah i see, i'm very sorry I understood you wrong Yes it is indeed a risk a person is taking when you upload things on the internet, but since I usually make money with my work it kind of a natural thing to try to make money out of everything, so i didnt meant it the wrong way, i'm sorry if it looked like that. I usually dont get myself in arguments on DA since i think its a peacefull online community.
I agree, I have never appreciated seeing anyone being nasty here despite the fact that I brush it off anywhere else on the internet.... I feel that this is a place for constructive feed back or a pat on the back for a job well done. I NEVER post anything in a harsh manner here, and I appreciate that I find not many people do. Either way, I know the feeling of usually getting paid for work. I model, so I am usually worth so much an hour or image, but I feel DeviantArt is that one place where I can post stuff for everyone and, I suppose, consider the feed back payment. Though it is different, you have a talent I do not have and it is a talent I respect so much more than the ability to stand in front of a camera in an appealing manner. You SHOULD be getting paid for work where it is due, just remember to respect the little guys that dont have much more payment than their respect and adoration. ~Lydia
Well then i'm glad we agree and I think your right ^^ Thank you very much for showing me the importance and freedom that can probably only found on DA
Oh btw your modeling looks awesome, and drawing isnt that special as you discribe it xd yes it is a part of me, but I think personally getting your picture in front of a camera as a model does require a lot of talent ^^
heehee, of course! What would you like? I also have premade ones that you can check out on [link] so whenever you figure out what you want, you can tell me. What state do you live in btw? Im pretty sure shipping wont cost very much for a small, light thing like that.
There were some I pretty much liked I have a few styles in the MLP art, if you want somthing like this artwork my pastel colours are very limited to only 12 colours But I can work something out with other materials, but queen chrysalis was a one time work I can also do something like this [link] but its the best if I design a style in the genre of the pony i'm making Because everypony suits a different style But I would love to make some art for you How may point would you offer per drawing?
Okay that'll work for me I saw many more pony's in your gallery that were adopted, like dreamcatch and aztek I really liked those, I woul like to draw them for you, could I choose somepony's from there to draw too?
